Eashan is a Master's student in the Experimental Medicine program at UBC. He completed his undergraduate degree in biology at UBC, studying local glucocorticoid regulation in lymphocytes. His research interests are around the roles of cytokines and other biological mediators in allergic respiratory conditions, including allergic rhinitis and asthma. Specifically, he is working with the Project ACE study to elucidate the multi-level effects of diesel exhaust and allergen exposure in allergic rhinitis under co-administration of the corticosteroid medication budesonide.
He has a particular interest in the immune system and its connections with the environment in the context of human health. He also likes to play badminton, dance, and write fiction.
